First Announcement
Dear Colleagues:
The past few years have
witnessed a tremendous growth in the Sino-French collaborations in
many fields of astronomy and astrophysics, and the Sino-French Joint
Lab (LIA) was established on October 22, 2008. As the first research
activity in the framework of LIA, the 4th Sino-French
Workshop “ORIGINS” will be held in Tongling, China, from July 20 to
25, 2009. Tongling is a small town in South China’s Anhui province,
just by the Yangtzi River. It is in the central regions of the
coming July 22 Solar Eclipse.
The workshop will focus
on a wide range of topics such as: Galaxies, Cosmology, High Energy
Astrophysics, Extra-solar Planets, Stellar Physics, and
Instrumentation.
The workshop will be
held in the Enjoytown Hotel, a unique five-star hotel in Tongling.
Each room in the hotel will have free internet connection. Tongling
is close to the Huangshan Mountain, one of China’s most beautiful
mountains. We will organize an excursion to Huangshan during July
24-25.
All our invited French
participants will be provided with local supports which cover
accommodation, meals, local transportation, and the excursion.
The overseas
participants are suggested to enter China from Shanghai, the Pudong
International Airport. Our bus will pick you up from Shanghai and
take you to the workshop site in Tongling. The Shanghai-Tongling
trip may take 4 hours.

第四届中法“起源”讨论会
（安徽铜陵，2009年7月20-25）
第一轮通知
各位同事：
在中国科学院及法国国家科研中心（CNRS）的大力支持下，中法“起源”天文联合实验室于2008年10月在国家天文台正式成立(http://lia.bao.ac.cn)。联合实验室服务于两国天文界，为中法科学家提供学术交流与合作的平台。
作为联合实验室成立后的首次学术活动，第四届中法“起源”讨论会将于2009年7月20-25日在安徽铜陵举行。铜陵位于7月22号日全食的中心地带，本次会议将结合日全食的观测。会议主题包括：星系、宇宙学、高能天体物理、太阳系外行星、恒星物理、天文仪器。
会议将在铜陵逸顿国际大酒店（五星级）举办。铜陵临近黄山，7月24-25日将安排去黄山游览。会议将提供受邀法方学者的食宿、及国内学者的餐饮等费用。
