The Sino-French IFU Workshop - About Lijiang

 

Lijiang is a small city in Southwest China’s Yunnan Province. It is located at the edge of the Tibetan Plateau, with coordinates 26°53′N, 100°14′E and an altitude of 2400m. The old town of Lijiang has a history of more than 800 years and it has been very well preserved. 18km north of the city, lies the 5596m high Jade Dragon (or Yulong in Chinese) Snow Mountain, which has glaciers closest to the equator in the Northern Hemisphere.
